If you are interested in purchasing a compressed air hose, you will need to do a little research before purchasing one. There are many sizes and types of compressed air hoses. However, there are some things you can do to make the selection process easier. These are some things to remember:
Select a hose that conforms to the DIN EN ISO 2398 standard. This type of hose is best suited for industrial applications. Some types are designed to handle very high pressures and are especially suited for a variety of industries. Depending on its intended use, it may be used in industries like mining, underground workings, and the steel and iron industry. Shipyards and petrol stations are other possible applications.
Choose the right material. Gas and air hoses are exposed at different media. Therefore, the material you choose for your hose should be able withstand each media’s chemical properties. Rubber and PVC do not withstand extreme temperatures or UV rays. It is important to consider the environment outside, including the heat and sunlight that the hose will be exposed. Silicone or EPDM might be a better choice if the hose is frequently exposed to extreme temperatures.
